Careers - Hardware Development and Test Engineering


Job Purpose:

Embedded hardware design, development, analysis, test bench, and integration expertise for ASIC and microcontroller environments. Top level chip integration. Completing tests; analyzing findings; identifying and recording failures; recommending design changes.

Duties

•  Define embedded hardware test requirements by reviewing design concepts, features, and data; developing testing bench and procedures; conferring with product development teams
•  Develop embedded hardware test strategies by researching, analyzing, selecting, and applying test engineering concepts, approaches, and techniques
•  Developing and evaluating new development and test methodologies; creating scripts; debugging test methods; qualifying vendors, sub-systems, components, and parts; developing automated tests
•  Preparing schedules, cost estimates, and required resources including equipment
•  Document designs by recording specifications; maintaining product database
•  Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing measurement data and trends; Working and interfacing with engineering design team to resolve hardware and software anomalies and problems

Skills Qualifications:

Embedded hardware engineering fundamentals. Expertise with FPGAs, Verilog, VHDL and Modelsim. Working knowledge of C, SQL, JavaScript, Perl, and Visual Basic. Operating systems: Windows XP and Linux.
